Indian Arts Markets Up In the Air

Santa Fe Indian Market, run by the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts, is the grand-daddy of all Indian Arts shows and boasts millions of dollars of revenue for the City of Santa Fe and is the livelihood of artists themselves. In recent years the up-start “Free Indian Market founded by Dr. Gregory Schaaf has grown in size and status to become an alternative for artists that did not find their way into the juried SWAIA Indian Market or wanted to show in a different venue.
These shows found themselves in a tough spot this August as COVID numbers held firm in NM.
