Pride Month starts Saturday and there are plenty of celebratory events scheduled for June in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and the surrounding areas. This week, for example, the party gets started with events aimed at seniors, kids and folks just looking for some fun with their friends.

It’s also time to dig out your old JNCOs and pump-up shoes because this weekend is Canteen Brewhouse’s 30th Anniversary Party — a ’90s themed celebration that starts on Thursday and runs through Sunday.

Whether these events interest you or if you want to create a weekend adventure of your own, The Paper.’s events calendar is the largest in ABQ with 1,101 arts, music, community and family things do to in May alone.

Canteen Brewhouse 30 Year Anniversary Party

Canteen Brewhouse (2381 Aztec Rd. NE) is celebrating its 30th anniversary. How is that possible? Well, the hop-heads at Canteen have been in the business of making “fly brews” since 1994. In honor of the achievement, the business is hosting a weekend of ’90s-themed events. On Thursday, May 30, at 6 p.m. it’s a Pre-Anniversary Party with Crazy Bird. On Friday, May 31at 6 p.m. there’s a ’90s Game Night. It all comes to a head on Saturday, June 1, with Canteen’s 30th Anniversary Party. From noon to 10pm there’s music, games, giveaways, ’90s merch, food specials and plenty of beer on tap. There’s even a prize for the best ’90s costume! Music lineup includes Le Chat Lunatique (1 p.m.), Squash Blossom Boys (3 p.m.) Doso Dirtbags (5 p.m.) and Carli’s Angels (7 p.m.). There’s no cover charge to get in. Sunday, June 2, closes out the weekend with a Dirty Thirty Bloody Mary Bar from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
