Fans of cute boy bands manufactured for TV sitcoms (that are not The Monkees) will be ecstatic this weekend. Big Time Rush, stars of the 2009-2013 Nickelodeon series “Big Time Rush,” hit Isleta Amphitheater (5601 University Blvd.) with their Big Time Rush – In Real Life Worldwide concert on Friday, Aug. 22 starting at 7 p.m. Odds are, if you were a fan of Kendall, James, Carlos and Logan back in the day, you’re in your late 20s now – so you don’t even have to worry about a curfew! Katelyn Tarver (who played Kendall’s girlfriend) and Stephen Kramer Glickman (who played the band’s hot-tempered manager) will also be on hand. Tickets run $39 to $193 and are available through Ticketmaster.com

Navajo Nation guitarist Levi Platero burst onto the local scene in 2004 with his family band, the blues rock power trio The Plateros. Electric/acoustic guitarist Chris Dracup has been paying tribute to southern delta blues for decades and is now making the rounds with his six-piece dance band Funk of the West. These two ax-men combine forces for a powerhouse local concert at KiMo Theatre (423 Central Ave. NW) on Saturday, Aug. 23 starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets (artsandculture.cabq.gov/9974/9975) are $17 to $33.
