The ABQ Indie Film Festival returns to FUSION (700 First St. NW) for its seventh annual edition, bringing with it a diverse program of visual entertainment. The ABQ Indie Film Festival is a dynamic showcase of independent cinema featuring a curated selection of one feature film and six short films from emerging filmmakers worldwide. Attendees will experience two screening slots with a brief intermission, followed by the announcement of festival award winners. Sally’s Night

Named after the first woman in space, Dr. Sally Ride, Sally’s Night at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science (1801 Mountain Rd. NW) celebrates New Mexico women in space science. On Friday, June 20, starting at 6 p.m., you can meet New Mexico author Melinda Snodgrass, who will talk about how science fiction mirrors real life. Snodgrass wrote the award-winning Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “The Measure of a Man,” and the evening will include a screening of a special restored version of the iconic episode, with scenes that were not part of the original broadcast.
