This Saturday Albuquerque’s Bricklight District is hosting a beer bash for those who like ’em tart enough to bring tears to their eyes. On April 19 beginning at noon, Flock of Moons Brewing (111 Harvard Dr. SE) is hosting the Fête de la Funk festival, a celebration geared towards fans of funky brews that pack a punch right in the kisser. Subtlety is not the goal of this gathering, and some of Burque’s best breweries are busting out their best sours, saisons, ales and other fully-loaded potables to tickle those tastebuds.
The pucker fest will be pouring pints from Canteen Brewhouse, Flock of Moons Brewing Company, La Cumbre Brewing Company, Nuckolls Brewing Company, Ponderosa Brewing Company, Rio Bravo Brewing Company, Rowley Farmhouse Ales, Second Street Brewery, Steel Bender Brewyard and Thirsty Eye Brewing Company.
The festival will have soulful, psychedelic grooves to move you from Albuquerque’s Kookie Jones & the Groove Maneuvers from 12:30 to 3:30 and munchies from Ocean Desert food truck. If the grub and the jams don’t vibe with your style, the party’s going down in one of the coolest areas in town, so you can walk it off or enjoy the buzz, finding adventures on Route 66 as the night progresses. The event is 21 and older, so leave the kids at home.
