Invincible Czars Perform Phantom of the Opera 2025 Centennial Tour

The Invincible Czars have been touring the country for years, providing eclectic instrumental soundtracks to classic silent films. On Thursday, April 3 the band is stopping at Guild Cinema (3405 Central Ave NE) to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the 1925 Hollywood shocker Phantom of the Opera starring Lon Chaney. The film (with live musical accompaniment) gets underway at 6 p.m. and is followed at 8 p.m. by a screening of the equally chilling 1920 silent The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Tickets are $20 per screening or $35 for both films. Seats are limited, so grab ’em now at guildcinema.com.
Critters and Cryptids

El Chante: Casa de Cultura (804 Park Ave. SW) offers up its first art show opening of the year with the mysterious Critters and Cryptids: Block Prints of Myth and Nature. This series of monstrous art images (both natural and unnatural) comes to us courtesy of “amateur creature investigator” Ayemurs. This critter-filled evening includes an eerie, “X-Files”-worthy DJ set from DJ Ghost as well. It takes place Friday, April 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. during the monthly ABQ ArtCrawl event, so expect crowds a-plenty. Admission is totally free.
