Albuquerque’s Summerfest season kicks of with Heights Summerfest, happening Saturday, June 15 from 5 to 10 p.m. at North Domingo Baca Park (7521 Carmel Ave. NE). These popular City of Albuquerque-sponsored block parties heat up neighborhoods around the Duke City (the Heights, Nob Hill, Westside) over the sweltering summer months. This first one features local vendors, kids’ activities, food trucks, libations from area breweries and loads of entertainment. Albuquerque bands The NOMS, Alex Maryol and Red Light Cameras will play on the main stage starting at 5 p.m. The national headliners, reggae legend Bob Marley’s original backing band The Wailers, will go on at 8:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
