Albuquerque will be filled with thousands of visitors next weekend as the annual Gathering of Nations kicks off. But on another side of town, local food expert and maybe one of the busiest women in town, Andi Murphy, will be launching am Indigenous food festival she’s been dreaming about for years.
This week, The Paper.’s staff writer Sara Atencio-Gonzales has the low-down on Murphy’s first Taste of Decolonization, hosted by Tiny Grocer ABQ in Old Town.
But I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention the big stoner holiday coming up this weekend. That’s right, 4/20 and all the accompanying cannabis sales are quickly approaching. Before you go scope all the deals this Saturday, make sure to read through the latest from cannabis expert Wylie Atherton about how potency isn’t everything.
We’ve also got an update on what cannabis industry leaders are saying about federal agents taking businesses’ weed at internal border checkpoints down south.
If all that celebrating on Saturday gives you the munchies, we’ve got you covered there too. Food writer Kevin Hopper checked out what Kokio Fried Chicken has to offer.
Happy 420, for those who celebrate, from The Paper., and remember to celebrate responsibly.

P.S. For all you political junkies out there, we’ve also got the latest on a high-profile congressional race and how one candidate seems to be downplaying her stance on abortion these days.
