Most of us of a certain age can probably remember a time when our plans for the future shifted, maybe even in an unexpected way.

This week’s featured story is all about pivoting when life throws those unexpected curveballs. Noé Barnett once wanted to go into law enforcement, but eventually found his calling as an artist. Now you can see Barnett’s art just about everywhere in town.

We also caught up with a legend in the world of psychobilly music, Reverend Horton Heat about the future of the music industry with the advent of AI.

Lastly, and most embarrassing to me, I managed to get roasted by the rising comedian Annie Lederman when I talked to her about her upcoming show at Quezada’s Comedy Club & Cantina and how she considers New Mexico her second home.

Of course, we’ve got a bunch of other great reads such as our regular Weak in Review section and a Run-Down of the latest news.

If you’re looking for even more news, don’t forget to drop by the City Desk ABQ website.

P.S. I want to send a very special thank you to the folks over at the New Mexico Black Leadership Council for all their hard work in putting together three issues over the past month to showcase important members of the Albuquerque community.
