Wish You Were Here
If current world conditions have left you feeling a need to zone out (and maybe stone out) to some classic psychedelic rock, feel free to tune in to the Pink Freud concert on Jan. 24. The New Mexico-based cover band, as you might expect, promises to “recreate the sounds of the legendary ’60s rock band Pink Floyd.” With very few concerts happening during the pandemic, this is a live-stream not to be missed. And best of all, it’s free! The concert starts live-streaming from Socorro’s Macey Center at 7:30pm on Facebook, YouTube and Twitch. For more info go to nmt.edu/pas/2020-2021/pink-freud.php. International Arts
Albuquerque-based nonprofit Keshet Dance and Center for the Arts is inviting folks to check out the Keshet and Kaliningrad International Arts Exchange. The international arts partners have been working together throughout the pandemic to bring Keshet’s M3 (Movement + Mentorship = Metamorphosis) curriculum to students in Kaliningrad, Russia. This Saturday the community at large gets a chance to learn about the international learning exchange process between Keshet Dance and Kaliningrad’s Pchyolka Organization, which works with at-risk youth and young adults within the Russian orphanage system. This free virtual event occurs Jan. 23 at 10am MST. (That’s 19:00 Kaliningrad time.) The event is viewable on Zoom. To register go to Keshetarts.org. (Devin D. O’Leary)
