Common Cause New Mexico has teamed up with a coalition of organizations to run a non- partisan voter protection program at the polls throughout the state during tomorrow’s mid-term election. Trained volunteers will be stationed at polling places from Rio Arriba County in the North to Doña Ana County in the South to assist voters who encounter problems casting their ballot.
They will be using a hotline number 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683) or For Spanish Speakers 888-VE-Y-VOTA. Voters are urged to call the number directly.
The non-partisan program called Protect the Vote is a nationwide program. Local partners include Common Cause New Mexico, the ACLU of New Mexico, the Native American Voters Alliance, the Black Voters Collaborative, Progress Now New Mexico, the Center for Civic Policy and OLÉ New Mexico.
Common Cause New Mexico has been running an election protection program since 2008.
