A new bill was introduced at the Roundhouse on Monday by Sen. Cliff Pirtle (R-Roswell) as the Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office investigates a fatal shooting on the set of “Rust” in October that occurred at Bonanza Creek Ranch outside of Santa Fe. Actor Alec Baldwin fired a fatal shot that killed Halyna Hutchins, the director of photography and wounded Joel Souza, the director.

Baldwin has repeatedly denied knowing the gun was loaded, and although he says he’s been cooperative with investigators, has yet to release his cell phone which was used that day.

There are only 18 days left of the session, and it’s unclear how far the bill will actually get with just over two weeks left.
