If you were one of the many who saw a long streak across the night sky last week, you may have been wondering exactly what made those long tails.
Although in NM we often assume anything illuminating the night sky is a UFO or a military operation, we’ve got an answer for what folks all over the state saw.
A group of 48 satellites was launched by Falcon 9 on Dec. 2 from Cape Canaveral, Florida. According to NASA Spaceflight.com, The satellites were sent into low Earth orbit and have joined more than 1,000 spacecraft already in place for SpaceX’s (Elon Musk’s pet project) satellite internet constellation.
