Every Monday, news outlets around the state receive a “just-the-facts” update of COVID-19 cases reported from the previous weekend. While the number of cases has been trending upwards for some time, yesterday’s report was, to say the least, alarming.
New Mexico state health officials on Monday announced 3,370 additional COVID-19 cases reported over the weekend, including 19 new deaths over just 3 days.
To put that in perspective, just look at the trends tracked by the New York Times‘ COVID state-by-state dashboard:
