The USDA said Evans Food Group is pulling more than 10,000 pounds of their pork skin chicharrones products from store shelves after they were shipped out without the “benefit of reinspection” and sold under several brands to stores in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Washington.

The pork pellets make fried pork skins or pork rinds, or as New Mexicans call them, chicharrones. The food company makes several brands of chicharrones sold in New Mexico stores, including Walmart.

USDA officials said they have not received any reports of adverse reactions but urge customers to throw out or return the recalled snacks.
