Live Nation has announced that they will now require attendees to show proof of vaccination before being admitted to a show. Artists, crews, and attendees will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test before admission to a show beginning October 4.
The new mandate will also be extended to all Live Nation employees who will be required to show proof of vaccination by October 4 as well before attending any of the company’s shows or visiting any company office.
For concert-goers in New Mexico, Live Nation manages concerts at Isleta Amphitheater. Here’s a list of shows that will require vaccination or a negative COVID test to get in.
In a statement to Rolling Stone Live Nation President Michael Rapino said that the new policy will be enforced wherever local laws will allow it.
“Vaccines are going to be your ticket back to shows, and as of October 4th we will be following the model we developed for Lollapalooza and requiring this for artists, fans and employees at Live Nation venues and festivals everywhere possible in the US,” Rapino said in an official statement to Rolling Stone.
In a previous announcement, Live Nation left the decision of whether to require proof of vaccinations or masks up to the artists. But, since reports about Lollapalooza not being a “super-spreader” event surfaced, the company has had a change in heart over vaccination requirements.
Two weeks after, Lollapalooza, commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health, announced no COVID-19 hospitalizations or findings that would suggest that the event had a significant impact on Chicago’s COVID-19 epidemiology.
