Good Friday pilgrimages are some of the first events to endure a second year of cancellations due to the pandemic. Chimayo and Tome Hill pilgrimages are canceled for the second year in a row (El Santuario is also closed to the public for the entire Easter holiday, in case you were considering your own personal trip). It’s a reminder that although many parts of the state are reopening, this pandemic’s impacts and dangers are still very real.
As of this morning, 45.9 percent of New Mexicans have at least one shot in their arm and the state still leads the nation in vaccine distribution. Those numbers are expected to get even better next week when the state opens vaccines up to anyone 16 and over. (Make your appointment online now).
Registration options we searched had appointments available every day next week if you sort through the dozens of locations in Bernalillo County.
New Mexicans are still absorbing the news that New Mexico will legalize cannabis beginning next year. If you were wondering who ultimately voted for and against the bill, we have the full lists here.
