New Mexico ranks in the top third of most innovative states and in the top 20 percent of states for creating an environment for innovation, according to a new analysis from WalletHub.
According to WalletHub’s analysis of 22 key metrics for innovation, New Mexico ranked 15 among states, earning it a spot in the top third of most innovative states.

Not surprisingly, New Mexico’s cluster of national labs helps New Mexico pull ahead in the rankings. The state’s low math and science test scores, however, contributed to lower scores as well.
