It may sound surreal after all this time under house arrest, but following Governor Lujan Grisham’s news on Feb. 10 that Bernalillo County made it to “yellow level” during her bi-weekly update Isleta Amphitheater concert venue posted tickets to summer shows. Tickets to Backstreet Boys and country music hit singer Luke Combs were already booked on Live Nation’s website for June. Maroon 5 has been booked for July. Indoor events like stand-up comedy by Larry the Cable Guy are booked as early as May.
So are we ready for mass gatherings with thousands of people?
Bernalillo County still needs to get to green before any outdoor events with more than 10 people can take place. Even if we hit that benchmark, the governor still needs to give her thumbs up for large venue gatherings. While tribal governments make their own health orders, they have been largely following state-mandated health orders like other counties. Isleta Resort and Casino have recently opened with the slogan “safe and consistent.” Isleta Amphitheater is the state’s largest outdoor concert venue and can hold up to 15,000 people. No word yet on whether they’ll allow full capacity.
Sandia Resort and Casino has yet to open their doors since March of last year, and The Stage at Santa Ana Star Casino is still temporarily closed. Route 66 Hotel and Casino also remains closed, with all concerts at Legends Theater postponed indefinitely.
If you’re ready to be the first in line for those outdoor concerts, Live Nation’s refund policy says they’ll reimburse all tickets sold for cancelled shows.
