After six seasons and 7,808 minutes of play, New Mexico United’s Daniel Bruce will take his final kick Friday night during the team’s game against Rhode Island FC.
A native of Warrington, England, Bruce was one of the United’s first players on the inaugural 2019 team. Over six seasons he has made 170 appearances, scored 17 goals and secured 21 assists as one of the team’s go-to scorers.
Off field, Bruce is also a fan favorite and one of the most visible players in community appearances.
On Friday, the team is granting him the honor of a final kick to start the team’s final regular season game before substituting him out for the remainder of the game.

“We will never have another Daniel Bruce,” said Peter Trevisani, CEO and Majority Owner of New Mexico United. “On the field, Daniel embodies everything we value in a New Mexico United player—he’s hardworking, gritty, and a selfless teammate. It’s no surprise he holds so many records for the club.
Team CEO and owner Peter Trevisani said heaped praise on Bruce as a team anchor since the beginning. “As great as he’s been on the field, he’s had an even greater impact off of it. He cares deeply about our community. While I don’t know exactly what his future holds, I do know that New Mexico will always be a part of it. Simply put, Daniel Bruce is a hero,” Trevisani says.
