Moulin Rouge! The Musical (Wed. 22-Sun. 26, Performance)

Somebody had the bright idea of putting Baz Luhrmann’s revolutionary 2001 movie musical on stage, and it ended up winning 10 Tony Awards. Now, the traveling version of Moulin Rouge! The Musical comes to Albuquerque at Popejoy Hall (203 Cornell Dr.) starting this Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. Head back to Paris 1899 and soak up this vibrant-yet-tragic love story in all of its jewel-toned glory with shows throughout the weekend. It runs Wednesday and Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. Tickets (available at popejoypresents.com/events/detail/moulin-rouge) run $84 to $159.

The Monster Mic (Fri. 24, Comedy)

Local comedians hit the stage this weekend at The Box Performance Space (114 Gold Ave. SW) with two goals in mind: to make audiences laugh and to get them in the Halloween spirit. To those ends, The Monster Mic finds them performing their acts in the persona of assorted well-known horror icons. Curious to see how hilarious Jason from Friday the 13th is when he actually speaks? Outpost CD/Vinyl/Book Fair Sale (Sat. 25, Market)

Beloved University-area musical venue The Outpost Performance Space (210 Yale Blvd. SE) hosts its annual fundraiser in the form of an epic CD/Vinyl/Book Fair Sale. This year, proceeds from the event will be earmarked to help fund a major renovation of The Outpost, scheduled for 2026. Expect a wide variety of musical goodies at all price points, including a large inventory of high-end items priced at $10 or higher and a selection of collectible pieces, including autographed items, like concert posters, photos, books and LPs! The sale happens Saturday, Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring a bag and expect a big crowd!
