Musical Theatre Southwest (6320 Domingo Rd NE B) teams up New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus to present the coming-of-age musical Bare, about a group high school students and their struggles at a private Catholic boarding school. Underneath the school uniforms of these young men lie secrets, struggles and stories waiting to be heard. This show contains some adult content. It plays Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m. from Aug. 8 through Aug. 31. Tickets are $33 general admission or $30 students/seniors/military. Noche Gotica Latina/Latino Goth Night (Friday 8/8, Music)

FUSION (700 First St. NW) explores the local variation on a worldwide subculture with Noche Gotica, a cross-cultural dance event blending Latin Culture with goth! DJ s Audio Buddha, Lowkey and Agua will play Latino goth, cumbia, Norteno, ’80s new wave, tribilin, synth, EDM, electro and darkwave. There will be video, full light, laser shows, piƱatas and inflatables. Vendors will also be on hand, so you can shop to your dark heart’s delight. This is an 18+ event. (Bar service, 21+ with ID.) ABQ Barfights: Fighting Game Tournament Series (Saturday 8/9, Games)

Ever been in a bar fight? How about a knock-down, drag-out videogame tournament in a brewery? ABQ Barfights: Fighting Game Tournament Series lands at Rio Bravo Brewing Company (1912 Second St. NW) on Saturday, Aug. 9. Player vs. player faves like Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Smash Bros. will be spinning up on the Playstations from noon to 8 p.m. At 1 p.m. the elimination tournament brackets for Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6 get underway. There’s a $5 registration fee and a $10 entry fee per tournament game, if you wanna get serious. If you’re not feeling all that competitive and just wanna do some button mashing, free casual play happens before and after the tournament. To pre-register, go to newmexicofgc.com.
