Roadrunner Food Bank is hosting its biggest fundraiser of the year, the annual Souper Bowl event on Saturday, Feb. 1 starting at 11 a.m. But fundraising for the crucial local charity is already off to a quick start.
M’Tucci’s Restaurants reports that, through the local restaurant group’s giving back program, it has raised nearly $5,000 for the food bank. Last year M’Tucci’s sponsored a promotion with Tito’s Handmade Vodka through its four Albuquerque locations and its Teddy Roe’s Speakeasy in Nob Hill. From Nov. 15 through New Year’s Eve, Tito’s donated $1 for every cocktail sold to Roadrunner Food Bank. Some 4,697 Tito’s cocktails were consumed in the various Albuquerque locations, resulting in a $4,697 donation.
“We’re grateful for this opportunity to support our community, especially during January, a time when many people are still recovering from the busy holiday season,” said Austin Leard, M’tucci’s Restaurants vice president. “We also hope to raise awareness about the incredible work being done by the Roadrunner Food Bank. So many in our community are facing food insecurity, and the need is even more pressing during the winter months.”
M’Tucci’s maintains four restaurant locations in the greater Albuquerque area: The original M’tucci’s Italian at Coors & Montano, M’tucci’s Moderno at Unser Pavilion in Rio Rancho, M’tucci’s Twenty-Five at 4939 Pan American Freeway NE and M’tucci’s Bar Roma in Nob Hill.
Tickets are still available online for Roadrunner Food Bank’s Souper Bowl fundraiser until Friday, Jan. 31 at 11:30 a.m. After that, they can be purchased at the door (5840 Office Blvd. NE) starting Saturday at 10 a.m.
