At least 8 of the 25 employees at a popular Santa Fe Starbucks locations say they have gone on strike to protest what they called unfair labor practices and interference with union activities. The story was first reported in the Santa Fe New Mexican.

The Santa Fe store at St. Michael’s Drive and Calle Lorca is one of several in New Mexico where employees have attempted to unionize. In August, employees notified Starbucks of their intent to unionize but several of the employees were transferred to other locations in September and no unionization vote has taken place. One Albuquerque Starbucks location did unionize earlier this year.
