Now is the time to sign up for public comment at the next Albuquerque City Council meeting set for Wednesday, September 7. Hot ticket items include the override of the Mayor’s veto of an attempt to stop any Safe Outdoor Spaces from moving forward. There is an agenda to pull funding for all Safe Outdoor Spaces. These sites are temporary, contained, permitted and with hygiene facilities for our homeless neighbors to camp in tents or cars. Proponents say this is a first step to getting homeless the services they need to get out from under tarps, bridges and doorways.
Another item to weigh in on are major changes that could be in store with a vote on the redistricting of the nine City Council districts. Here is the exciting agenda and the sign-up link – www.cabq.gov/council/find-your-councilor/public-comments/public-comment-sign-up-sep-7-2022-council-meeting
