Opening at the Adobe Theater on 4th St. NW. on September 2 is The Women of Lockerbie by Deborah Brevoort and directed by Pete Parkin. It is the moving true story of the aftermath of the crash of Pan Am 103 over Scotland due to a terrorist bomb that killed 270 people in 1988.
Coming up at The Adobe Theater: Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, directed by Mario Cabrera, Oct. 14-Nov. 6; and The Drowsy Chaperone, a send-up of the big, Jazz-Age musical, directed by Cy and Jane Hoffman, Dec. 1-18.
eLite Theatre & Dance has such imaginative programming that seeing a show is like taking a well-deserved vacation and coming back refreshed. This time around they’re taking you on a tour of The Jungle Book and here’s what they have to say about their interpretation of the story:

The Vortex Theatre is asking for directors’ submissions so they’re not ready to lay out their season for us just yet. We are sure their choices will live up to their motto: “Classic Contemporary. Cutting-edge.” But you can still catch them for free at Veterans’ Memorial Park in As You Like It and King Lear, this year’s offerings in their Shakespeare Festival.
Flower and Bone Productions is doing a one-woman show about Georgia O’Keeffe on Sept. 9-11 at Rodey Theatre, written and updated by Lucinda McDermott, who plays O’Keeffe.
