On Wednesday, Amazon confirmed a lease agreement and plans for a new fulfillment center in Los Lunas, creating over 600 full-time jobs. Amazon employees will pick, pack, and ship items to customers from this one million square foot facility that is scheduled to launch in 2023.

Amazon Manager of Economic Development Manager Sam Bailey said, “Los Lunas has a great workforce, and we are excited to add to the amazing team currently helping us set a higher standard of operational excellence and delivering outstanding customer experience every day.”

“This Amazon facility is a significant economic development opportunity for the Village of Los Lunas. Their investment into the community during the post-pandemic climate will be transformative, generating over 600 full-time jobs and a total economic impact of over $200 million. Our ability to create more employment opportunities for our local families could not have come at a better time, and we are beyond excited to have Amazon become another great community partner,” Mayor Charles Griego of the Village of Los Lunas said.

Amazon has invested more than $200 million in the state of New Mexico, creating 3,500 full- and part-time jobs, as well as 1,000 indirect jobs. New Mexico boasts over 8,700 small and medium business sellers and independent authors in New Mexico growing their businesses with Amazon.
