University of New Mexico students, staff and faculty must receive and provide documentation of having gotten a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot by Jan. 17, which is a federal holiday and the day before the spring 2022 semester is scheduled to start.

Those who have been vaccinated after these dates have up to four weeks to upload certification of their vaccination status following the Jan. 17 deadline.

According to the Daily Lobo, as of Sunday, Jan. 9, only 18.4 percent of students, 45.6 percent of staff and 48.8 percent of faculty have confirmed receiving a booster shot.
