Early Saturday morning, APD responded to a shooting shortly after 1 a.m. in the area of 6th Street and Copper Ave. N.W. One person suffered gunshot wounds and died.
At the same time, APD responded to a scene where four people were shot and wounded in a large house party on Albuquerque’s west side, but authorities said nobody was seriously injured. Police said officers responded to the scene shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday after they received a 911 call. They said gunfire also struck several homes and vehicles in the neighborhood, but there were no reports of injuries at those homes.
Then on Sunday morning, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s officials say at least two people are dead after a shooting in Albuquerque after a fight broke out at a Halloween party. They said several other victims were taken to a hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.
Authorities said the shooting occurred around 3 a.m. Sunday and it is unclear how many shooters were involved.
These latest homicides have Albuquerque inching closer to reaching 100 homicides this year. As of October 25, there have been 85 homicide cases in the city and 89 homicide victims.
