The New Mexico Department of Health announced on Tuesday that the state’s indoor mask mandate will be extended for another month into October.
The indoor mask mandate was set to expire on Wednesday after being implemented again in August.
Under the public health order, all New Mexicans aged 2 and older will still be required to wear a face mask or covering while in an indoor public setting – except while eating or drinking – regardless of vaccination status.
State health officials are expected to discuss the extension on Wednesday at 2 p.m. during an COVID vaccine update.
