The Write Track
Professional writer, filmmaker and educator Scotty Milder (Dead Billy, “The Neighborhood,” “Vanya”) hosts Writing the TV Pilot, a six-week virtual writing class through Albuquerque’s Sol Acting Academy. This course aims to teach the fundamentals of writing the one-hour drama for television, both in the serial and episodic formats. Story structure, character, screenplay format and style, how to write engaging dialogue and how to create a sense of subtext through action will all be discussed. Students can also learn about the business side of TV writing: how to craft a successful “pitch” and develop a “bible” for your show. The class meets via Zoom on Thursdays, 6 to 8pm, Nov. 19 through Jan. 14. Cost is $315. You can register by going to solacting.com. (Devin D. O’Leary)

Join art- and back-lovers at OT Circus this Friday, Nov. 20, for a look at local photographer Pat Berrett’s series featuring the tatted backs of women. Since he began the project in the ’90s, Pat has photographed more than 60 women and their unique tattoos. Due to the state’s new COVID orders, the exhibit’s free closing night reception has been moved to Facebook Live (facebook.com/events/358367432268836/). The event will start around 6pm.
