[VIDEO] Gov. Makes It Official: "We're going to a special session, we're going to get cannabis!"

Speaking to members of the Sandoval County Democratic Party this morning, Governor Lujan Grisham made it clear she is not giving up on cannabis legalization.

After two years of effort to pass a legalization bill, a Democratic proposal sponsored by House Representatives Javier Martinez and Andrea Romero made it through the House and two senate committees where it has languished while sponsors and the governor worked with opponents to secure enough votes to pass.

As the clock moved closer to today's noon deadline for adjournment, Governor Lujan Grisham's office began teasing the idea of a special session -- possibly as soon as two weeks from now -- to finish the job if legislators don't pass a bill today. Her spokespersons started making the press rounds yesterday to ensure that message got out.
