Oktoberfest

For whatever reason, Oktoberfest celebrations always start in September around these parts. Looks like local brewpub fave La Cumbre Brewing (3313 Gerard Blvd. NE) is first out of the gate this year to celebrate all things German. On Friday, Sept. 19 from 3 to 10 p.m., they’ve set aside a day filled with live music, German-inspired eats (pretzels, brats and a Bavarian smash burger), bar games (a stein-holding contest) and ever-flowing kegs of German-style beer. There’s even a “best-dressed” contest, so break out your finest lederhosen. Admission is free, but food and drinks are not!
