FUSION Theatre Company opens its fall 2025 season with Will Eno’s Wakey, Wakey.  FUSION veteran Robb Sisneros (Witch, The Real Inspector Hound, Meteor Shower) directs John San Nicolas in the role of Guy and Alicia Lueras Maldonado as Lisa in this existential meditation on the way human beings tend to labor through life forgetting to appreciate the smaller things – like laughter, beauty and one another. This seriocomic stage play concentrates on a man in hospice care who resolves to spend the remainder of his dwindling days on Earth discovering new ways to celebrate life. It opens Thursday, Sept. 11 and runs Thursdays and Fridays at 7 p.m., Satudays at 2 and 7 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. though Sept. 21. Tickets (available at pci.jotform.com/form/252394505575160) are $40 general admission, $35 seniors and $20 students. FUSION Theatre is located at 700 First St. SW.

It’s New Mexico, so we know there are still plenty of dyed-in-the-tie Grateful Dead fans out there. If you’re among them, you should know, instinctively, to gather at The Historic Lobo Theater (3013 Central Ave. NE) on Friday, Sept. 12 starting at 7:30 p.m. for The Region of Jerry Project. This soulful, high-energy tribute band will lead audiences through the best music from The Grateful Dead as well as The Jerry Garcia Band. We’re talking legendary songs, from [insert your favorite Dead jam here] to [name a JGB tune]. Tickets are $12.33, all-in, and can be purchased in advance at tickets.holdmyticket.com/tickets/452369. This is a 21+ event.

Trinket Swap Part 4 (Sat./13, Kids/Family)

Artists, collectors, kids and adults are invited to stop by Color Wheel Toys (6855 Fourth St. NW) on Saturday, Sept 13, from 10 a.m. to Noon for Trinket Swap Part 4. Bring in your “bits, bobs, trifles and treasures” and trade them with others, or turn them in for novel new trinkets from Color Wheel’s secret stash. What will you wind up with? What will you do with it? Who the heck knows? Smaller items are encouraged. (The measurement they’re using is “Does it fit in a muffin tin cup?”) And kids below age 3 are discouraged, since such tiny items can easily be shoved up toddler’s noses. Other than that, anything goes! Bags and containers will be available. Plus, its free.
