Call it the Re-rebirth of Slick. Jazz-infused mid-’90 hip hop returns in the form of Digable Planets. The Grammy-winning trio takes the stage at Revel Entertainment Center (4720 Alexander Blvd. NE) Thursday, July 10 at 8 p.m. The band celebrated the 30th anniversary of their debut album Reachin’ (A New Refutation of Time And Space) in 2023 and has been a dynamic touring band for decades. Grand Rising First Peoples United

Grand Rising First Peoples United promises a night of “entertainment, fashion and music.” It includes indigenous musicians such as W444VY, Levi Platero, Brenda G. Precious, DEF-I, Niko Otis, C.L.A.N. & DJ Willi. Comedians Ricardo Cate and Victor Tenorio will be there. Other special guests include Janet Johnson, Ryan Begay, Jovan Lopez and MMA Fighter Jason Hensher. A fabulous fashion show hosted by Foxfire Designs with Native American inspired wear and jewelry by Milford Calamity tops off the evening. Native American food trucks will be available for guests. It happens Saturday, July 12 from 5 to 10 p.m. at the KiMo Theatre (423 Central Ave. NW). Tickets (artsandculture.cabq.gove/9996/9998) are $25 general admission and $75 VIP. All sales for the evening will be donated to the Foxfire Indigenous Scholarship Foundation.

ToonFusion: Albuquerque

Animation aficionados of all ages are invited to EXPO New Mexico’s Manuel Lujan Building (300 San Pedro Dr. NE) this Saturday and Sunday, June 12 and 13 for ToonFusion, a traveling cartoon convention loaded with exclusive sneak peeks, limited-edition collectibles, cosplay contests, workshops and special appearances by some of the industry’s top voice talent. Among the guests are: Jeremy Shada (the voice of Finn from “Adventure Time”); Ashley Eckstein and Matt Lanter (Ahsoka and Anakin from “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”); Blake Roman, Amir Talai, Bryce Pinkham, Richard Horovitz, Joel Perez and Krystina Alabado (half the cast of “Hazbin Hotel”/”Helluva Boss”). Admission hours are 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. General admission tickets for Saturday in $29.23 and Sunday is $23.79.
